Standard 4: Reactions

Chemical reactions are processes in which atoms are rearranged into different combinations of molecules.

£     I know how reactant atoms and molecules form products with new properties.

£     I can explain the Law of Conservation of matter.

£     I can describe why the number of atoms always stays the same chemical reactions.

£     I understand that no matter how atoms are rearranged, their total mass stays the same.

£     I can explain why chemical reactions usually liberate heat or absorb heat.

£     I know the physical processes that can make a material changes form.

£     I know the difference between a chemical reaction and a physical reaction.

£     I can determine whether a solution is acidic, basic, or neutral.
